This new course will be of interest to those already working or volunteering in the sector who wish to expand their knowledge and increase their employment opportunities. It will allow working or volunteering practitioners to learn the theory and strategies of interacting, caring, educating and supporting children, young people and their families in a variety of roles.With a rapidly developing sector, this programme will allow those engaging with a wide range of multi-disciplinary teams to enhance their knowledge, understanding, skills and career opportunities.Opportunities to explore concepts, current issues impacting practice, effective strategies and key ways of working will be offered, throughout.Along with 120 hours in work placement (paid or voluntary), the lectures will provide the conduit to learn the theory which can then be applied to practice.Throughout the course there are opportunities to reflect on practice, try new strategies and focus on new-found practical skills.**Assessment**Various academic submissions**Progression**BA (Hons) Children, Schools and Families at Cornwall College St Austell, or BA (Hons) Education and Curriculum Studies at Cornwall College St AustellCornwall College University Centre offers a unique and fulfilling university experience with small class sizes, allowing for personal attention from tutors and a strong sense of community among students.
