If you have a non-Dutch Secondary School degree, your previous education will be assessed on an individual basis by the Admissions Officer of the Faculty of Science to determine whether it is of sufficient level. If the level is sufficient, then you could be directly admissible or additional conditions may apply (such as taking an English or Mathematics test).
For Chemistry, you can prove your English language proficiency by obtaining one of the following diplomas: • A Dutch VWO diploma; • An International Baccalaureate Diploma (diploma programme) • A European Baccalaureate Diploma, with English Language 2 or English Language 1 • GCE A-Levels • A diploma equivalent to, or higher than the Dutch VWO diploma, with English as the only language of instruction, obtained at an institution in an EU/EEA member state, Australia, Canada (excluding Quebec), Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom or the United States of America.
IELTS Academic: overall score at least 6.5, sub-scores at least 6.0, TOEFL iBT: total score at least 90, sub-scores at least 20, Cambridge English Qualifications: C1 Advanced (CAE) or C2 Proficiency (CPE), scores ≥ C.
Application Deadline: Non-EU/EEA students - 1 April; EU/EEA students - 1 May (recommended deadline for assistance with finding housing) and 1 July (final application deadline).
