Students should have at least 17 years old and successfully.
- a bachelor’s degree requiring at least four years of full-time study in a relevant field, and which includes a research component in the fourth year, leading to an honours 1 or 2A in a relevant field;
- a course leading to a level rated by the relevant department, faculty and committee as equivalent to an honours 1 or 2A in a relevant field;
- a master’s degree that entails work, including a significant research component at least equivalent to an honours degree in a relevant field (a ‘significant research component’ in a master’s degree will vary from discipline to discipline). It is normally expected that a grade of honours 2A has been obtained for the research thesis or project. Where ungraded, examiner’s reports will be taken into account; or
- a qualification deemed equivalent by the relevant department, faculty and committee.

Paper-based TOEFL (American Test of English as a Foreign Language): Total Score: 550 or above. Test of Written English Score: 4.5 or above
Internet-based TOEFL (American Test of English as a Foreign Language): Total Score: 79, Listening score: 12, Reading score: 13, Writing score: 21, Speaking score: 18
PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English): Overall score: 58, Listening score: 50, Reading score: 50, Writing score: 50, Speaking score: 50
