The Bachelor of Business (Management and Digital Media) is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skillsets needed by managers for a career in business management complemented with the discipline of design. Graduates will be able to combine research, creative design thinking and industry relevant technical skills in a range of multimedia design applications all the while having a more critical and collaborative mindset to develop shared understandings with diverse others within and across organizations.
Course objectives
Upon successfully completing the Bachelor of Business (Management and Digital Media) students will be able to:
- Define and integrate theoretical principles applicable to management and digital media and apply those principles in a range of business and design practices
- Systematically review and critically evaluate research from a variety of sources in order to make informed judgments on options for innovatively solving a range of problems that arise in business and design contexts
- Formulate creative solutions to exercise critical thinking and judgment that are fit for purpose and demonstrate cognisance of the impact of business and design decisions on the triple bottom line
- Coherently articulate a line of reasoning demonstrating cultural sensitivity and apply a framework to analyse and offer solutions to ethical dilemmas
- Communicate a range of creative ideas by applying principles of sustainability and respectful design through planning, problem solving, decision making, evaluating and implementing business and design solutions, as appropriate to the audience
- Build on and continuously develop the intellectual independence to be critical and reflective learners, cognisant of new and advanced technologies with responsibility and accountability
- Work collaboratively in diverse groups and contexts
Course structure
For completion of the Bachelor of Business (Management and Digital Media) students are required to complete a total of 22 units plus 1 double-credit unit (300 credit points) consisting of:
- 11 Business core units
- 12 Design core units
