The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) programme is designed for students who wish to pursue a career in entrepreneurship, design and innovation, finance, human resource management, information systems and analytics, or marketing. It combines strong functional training with intensive exposure to communication skills, computer applications, plus other social sciences and/or science subjects. In the second year of the programme, students can choose to major in (i) Entrepreneurship, Design and Innovation, (ii) Finance, (iii) Human Resource Management, (iv) Information Systems and Analytics, or (v) Marketing. Students may also select a second major if they are able to complete the requirements. Students of the BBA programme are required to complete 240 credits for the 4-year curriculum.

Major in Entrepreneurship, Design and Innovation (EDI) (formerly known as Business Design and Innovation (BDI))* teaches you the transformative business and innovation management skills and knowledge for exceling in traditional and new economies. You will be guided by our academic and industry leaders tutors, through a combination of cross-disciplinary teaching and experiential learning programme that resembles executive innovation and entrepreneurship education.

The Finance major prepares students for careers as bankers and investment consultants. The courses required in the major combine the most up-to-date ideas pertaining to these areas with the application of the concepts within the Asia-Pacific context.

The Human Resource Management major trains students to manage human resources in both profit and non-profit organisations. The courses are designed to prepare students to become members of the Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management.

The Information Systems and Analytics major provides training in the fields of both business administration and information technology in order to give students an unique edge in the industry.

The Marketing major prepares students for careers in advertising, brand management, customer relationship management, and marketing management in multinational and local companies. A distinctive feature is its focus on active-learning and responsive decision-making. All graduating students are equipped with cutting-edge marketing knowledge that enables them to proactively explore opportunities in the rapidly changing, globalising marketplace.

  • An International Baccalaureate Diploma with 35 points out of 45 or equivalent

  • SAT Reasoning Test / ACT plus Writing and SAT Subject Test / Advanced Placement Test: Candidates should have completed - Redesigned SAT: 1350; SAT Subject Tests: 600 in each of the 3 subjects; AP Exams: Level 3 in each of the 3 subjects or equivalent

You must achieve at least one of the following English Language Requirements to be considered for admission to HKU.

International Baccalaureate Diploma

GCSE / GCEO

  • Grade C in English Language at GCSE/GCEO;
  • Grade C in English First Language at IGCSE; or
  • Grade B in English as a Second Language at IGCSE

Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English / Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English

  • Level C1 or an overall score of 180 in Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English; or
  • Grade C or an overall score of 180 in Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English

SAT Reasoning Test: Sub-scores of 550 in both Critical Reading and Writing in the same attempt of the SAT Reasoning Test (prior to March 2016); or Test scores of 31 in Writing and Language and 30 in Reading in the same attempt of the Redesigned SAT Reasoning Test;

IELTS: An overall band of 6.5 in IELTS Academic Module;

Total of 93 with sub-scores of 22 in each of the sections.
