Description
Interested in Acoustics or Automation and Robot Technology? Boost your CV by studying abroad; graduate with a dual degree from two internationally acclaimed universities; spend one year abroad, and gain combined Electrical and Mechanical Engineering competences.
Electrical and Mechanical Engineering is a DTU-KAIST Dual Degree programme. This means that you get to spend one year at DTU and one year at KAIST, Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. You get a Danish and an international degree, which gives you personal and academic skills with an international foundation.
Combined Expertise of two top universities
The Electrical and Mechanical Engineering programme is based on the expertise of DTU within Electrical Engineering and KAIST within Mechanical Engineering. The programme targets students who wish to profit from the two universities’ long standing traditions and combined knowledge within the areas of Acoustics as well as Automation and Robot Technology
Acoustics is a wide field that includes topics such as human perception of sound and auditory modelling, electroacoustic systems and audio coding, architectural acoustics, sound fields and vibration, and advanced acoustic measurement techniques.
Automation and Robot Technology are very important for our modern society. Without reliable high-quality automation we cannot maintain the current levels of production and social and economic welfare. Industrial production is ever more reliant on reliable control and automation systems. Robotics is also increasingly important both at home and in industry.
Focus
The main focus of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Dual Degree programme is in two areas namely Acoustics, and Automation and Robot Technology. In Acoustics a wide range of topics within acoustics including the fundamentals of sound propagation, advanced measurement techniques, and understanding and modelling of the normal and impaired human hearing system is covered. In Automation and Robot Technology topics such as control theory, automation, and mobile robotics including walking robots are covered.
Career
Studying abroad jump-starts your career as employers are always looking for graduates with an international outlook and intercultural competencies. Upon graduation you are eligible to enter a PhD programme, but you are also qualified for demanding positions in industry.
Career Opportunities
Upon graduation you will be qualified to work within a wide range of areas ranging from:
- Acoustics
- Automation
- Robot technology
Graduating the MSc programme with a high grade point average qualifies you for admission to PhD studies either as an industrial PhD with concurrent employment in a company, or as a regular PhD student.
