Students need to have a diploma or degree from a recognized college or university or equivalent. Language Requirements: TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) - 560 (paper-based test), 84 (iBT internet-based test) with minimums of 21; IELTS (International English Language Test Service) - 6.5 overall with no bands less than 6.0 in each section; CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language Assessment) - Overall band of 70, writing 60; Cambridge English Exam - C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency; Pearson PTE Academic - Overall 60.

Required academic preparation

A diploma or degree in computer studies, technology, engineering, analytics, mathematics or statistics from a recognized college or university or equivalent. Data analysis, computer languages fluency and strong math skills are recommended for success in this program.

All teaching within Loyalist is conducted in English. In order to be successful in a program, skills such as communication, listening comprehension, and reading and writing must be at a level sufficient to meet the demands of post-secondary studies. All applicants to Loyalist whose first language is not English, or whose previous education was in another language, will be expected to provide an English proficiency assessment for admissions approval.
