The new DCS program in Financial Services and Insurance Technology is offered exclusively by Collège Universel in Outaouais!

Collège Universel is the only bilingual private college in Outaouais, and the region’s only institution offering this program. The DCS program in Financial Services and Insurance Technology will train you as a professional with the versatility needed to meet all client needs in this field.

The training program leads to an in-depth understanding of personal and business insurance, financial products, economics and taxation. You will learn to write financial plans and private and group insurance policies, and to handle damage claims. Lastly, you will develop your client communication skills, learning to incorporate their objectives and needs into your work, and acquire the skills you need to manage your career and adapt to changes in the profession.

The program is structured to prepare you equally for the financial services and personal and property insurance industries. Based on the requirements of these three fields, the program helps students develop the skills they need to do the following professional work:

  • Settle damage claims
  • Assess risks and recommend and sell property and casualty insurance to individuals and companies
  • Sell personal and group insurance products as well as savings, investment and credit products
  • Serve as a client representative
  • Analyse clients’ needs and objectives
  • Develop programs and recommend insurance or financial services
  • Analyse risks and the details of insurance applications in order to determine whether they should be accepted
  • Settle and follow up insurance claims

To be admitted into the DCS in Financial Services and Insurance Technology, you must meet the Ministry of Education and Higher Education’s basic requirements for college students.

You must meet the following general admission requirements:

  • Have a Secondary School Diploma (DES) or Secondary School Vocational Diploma (DEP)

Language proficiency

IELTS(Academic) (International English Language Testing System): Overall 6.0 (no band lower than 5.5); TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) IBT: Score 80 or higher, with a minimum combined score of 34 for speaking and writing; Cambridge English: 169; PTE(Academic) (Pearson Test of English Academic): Overall 54; MELAB (Michigan English Assessment Battery): Overall 77, Minimum of 75 AND Speaking 3-; Duolingo English Test: Minimum of 100.
