The Graduate Certificate of Management (GCM) will equip students with a solid foundation of knowledge, skills and application in the management disciplines within an evidence-based management (EBM) framework. The GCM is both a standalone program and a pathway to our Masters programs for those who do not meet the traditional entry requirements for an ANU Masters program.
In addition to the three elective courses from within the Research School of Management, all students will study the Evidence-Based Management course. It is divided into two sequential modules. The first module equips students with knowledge about EBM and how it strengthens decision-making and practice in business and organisation. In module two, students will learn how to appraise evidence quality before applying it to support decisions and actions. Students will thus be able to not only translate principles from best evidence to management practice and ethical decision-making, but also to reflect on how to use evidence and their position to improve on their learning experience.
Research School of Management graduates complete their studies having demonstrated knowledge and skills characteristics of: Evidence-based thought leaders Innovators and pioneers Collaborative problem solvers Responsive and resilient professionals Effective communicators Internationally informed managers Ethical and responsible decision-makers Professionals with technical business competencies Responsible decision-makers
